At The Innovation School, we believe that each child is an individual and all children are creative beings. The Innovation School respects the individual needs of children; fosters a caring and creative environment; and emphasizes the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child. Paramount to our work is cultivating an environment in which each child can discover his or her strengths and passions to explore their unique contributions and place in the world.
our structure
The Innovation School is a small, independent tuition-based school serving students in grades Preschool-8th. Students are grouped in multiage classroom communities and given opportunities to learn through inquiry and projects as they collaboratively explore science and social studies. Math, reading, and writing are imbedded within projects, as well as formally scheduled throughout the school day. We are a school built on curiosity, inquiry, community, and identity. We want to learn who our students are so that we can better help them identify their unique place in the world.
The Innovation School's Priority Standards align with the North Dakota State Standards, customizing instruction to students' needs. Our Priority Standards use proficiency scales to assess students' knowledge, understanding, and application.
Through Family Roundtables, held three times yearly, we engage parents, students, and teachers to review the learners'
Growth Reflections. We use various assessment methods, including performance, formative, and self/peer evaluations, empowering students to drive their learning.

Our location
We are located at 1617 Michigan Avenue in Bismarck, ND. We share space with Bismarck Community Church, though we are not affiliated. Our entrance is on the East side of the building.
