Who we are

The Innovation School is a small, independent tuition-based school serving students in grades K-6. We are committed to expanding each year to eventually serve students through 8th grade.

Our Mission

At The Innovation School, we believe that each child is an individual and all children are creative beings. The Innovation School respects the individual needs of children; fosters a caring and creative environment; and emphasizes the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child. Paramount to our work is cultivating an environment in which each child can discover his or her strengths and passions to explore their unique contributions and place in the world.

"MAKE"ing School Better

The Innovation School was started with a question... how can we make school better? Our answer... to create a culture and environment in which kids feel safe and comfortable in asking questions, exploring ideas, and having fun. Our staff is committed to learning about your child and creating a community in which he or she can thrive. We believe in exploring and discovering through projects and making.
Reggio Emilia Approach

We have been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. It is based on the image of the child... a child capable of strong potential for development, who learns and grows in relationships with others. This video shows a small school in Texas that practices this philosophy.

Why should education change?

As the world around us changes at breathtaking speed, our current education climate remains the same. Children are divided by ages, made to learn a standardized curriculum at a similar pace, and then assessed and tested repeatedly as they progress through school... all while learning very little about themselves and their passions and strengths. This video explores shifting our mindset about education.
The Innovation School is nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices, and all other operations and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin or gender.
