"MAKE"ing School Better
The Innovation School was started with a question... how can we make school better? Our answer... to create a culture and environment in which kids feel safe and comfortable in asking questions, exploring ideas, and having fun. Our staff is committed to learning about your child and creating a community in which he or she can thrive. We believe in exploring and discovering through projects and making. |
Reggio Emilia Approach
We have been inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. It is based on the image of the child... a child capable of strong potential for development, who learns and grows in relationships with others. This video shows a small school in Texas that practices this philosophy. |
Why should education change?
As the world around us changes at breathtaking speed, our current education climate remains the same. Children are divided by ages, made to learn a standardized curriculum at a similar pace, and then assessed and tested repeatedly as they progress through school... all while learning very little about themselves and their passions and strengths. This video explores shifting our mindset about education. |
